2025/26 Season

This season we’re delighted to present some of the most exciting and celebrated musicians in the classical world.

We have international prize winners, BBC Proms regulars, and no fewer than four past or current BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artists.

Simon Lepper & Llŷr Williams

The new season opens with a treat - two like-minded artists at one piano. Simon Lepper and Llŷr Williams (a former BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist) are official accompanists for the Cardiff Singer of the World competition and will treat us to music by Schubert, Debussy, Brahms and more. Tickets £12.

Jung Eun Séverine Kim

Born in South Korea and trained in Germany, Séverine KIm is a prize-winning pianist with an international reputation who'll be bringing her 'magical and inspirational sound' to Harrogate in a programme she’s called ‘A Frenchman in Vienna’. Tickets £12.

Julian Bliss &James Baillieu

We're thrilled to welcome one of the world's finest clarinettists to Wesley. Julian's solo career is stellar, with a touring schedule spanning the globe. With his equally celebrated duo partner, pianist James Baillieu, Julian performs favourites by Weber, Poulenc and Schumann. Tickets £12.

Leon McCawley

Leeds International Piano Competition prize winner, and BBC Proms regular Leon McCawley is a multi-faceted pianist whose Natural Connection CD was praised by Gramophone magazine as ‘scintillating’. He brings us his 'unfailingly communicative playing' in music by Haydn, Scriabin and Chopin. Tickets £12.

Laura van der Heijden & Jâms Coleman

Laura’s ‘deeply thoughtful, personal and sincere’ playing (BBC Music Magazine) was a hit with the Wesley Concerts audience in 2024. We’re delighted to welcome Laura and Jâms back with another unique programme of gorgeous and mesmerising cello and piano sounds from Mél Bonis to Beethoven. Tickets £12.

Hugh Cutting & Joseph Middleton

PETER HIRSCHMANN MEMORIAL CONCERT

Enjoy the wonderful sound of BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist Hugh Cutting's countertenor voice as he partners with Wesley favourite, Joseph Middleton in a fascinating programme of music from across the centuries. This concert forms a warm tribute to the late Peter Hirschmann, who contributed so much to the success of Wesley Concerts Harrogate over the decades. Tickets £12.

Hana Chang & Jonathan Ware

Rising star, multi-award winner and current BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist Hana Chang has been thrilling audiences around the world with her sparkling playing. Her programme with duo partner Jonathan Ware, including pieces by Takemitsu and Saint-Saëns, is guaranteed to capture Harrogate hearts. Tickets £12.

Elizaveta Ivanova & Sanja Bizjak

Estonian flautist Elizaveta is a current BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist who won first prize at the prestigious Geneva music competition. She studied in St Petersburg and Switzerland and now plays in the Frankfurt Opera orchestra. She's in great demand as a soloist and we're delighted to welcome her together with Serbian pianist Sanja Bizjak. Tickets £12.

Giovanni Bertolazzi

Known for giving his debut public recital on the world's longest grand piano, Giovanni returns to Harrogate with a programme that will again showcase his power and poetry as a performer. Tickets £12.

Richard Wetherall Trio

Jazz pianist Richard Wetherall and his fellow musicians close the season in a customarily relaxed style with a mix of jazz standards and new discoveries. This is always a lovely way to celebrate the end of another year of music making at Wesley Concerts, so do join us for this summer lunchtime special. Tickets £12.

The Wesley Centre is a large Grade II listed neo-classical chapel, designed and built by Lockwood & Mawson in 1862 for a prosperous Victorian Methodist community. It is now a dominant landmark in Harrogate's town centre providing a warm and comfortable environment with a wonderfully clear acoustic.

The Wesley Centre is a short 5 minute walk from Harrogate's bus and train stations and parking is available in the nearby multi-storey Jubilee carpark.
